Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
Consort believes that SaaS has a great future and we are heavily invested in exploiting the capabilities of this software delivery model. Consort is in the process of creating partnerships with various application software providers and filling out our portfolio of SaaS solutions.
SaaS and Managed Services
There's a clear indication of a major shift in the IT industry away from products to services and the advent of SaaS solutions. This convergence of managed services and SaaS will fundamentally change the way organizations leverage technology.
our statement of Direction Regarding SaaS
Many firms are out tasking the burden of performing non-core business functions.
Organizations are increasingly turning to managed service providers like Consort to cope with the escalating complexities and risk associated with keeping hardware, software and network systems up and running. Consequently, they are adopting SaaS solutions after being fed up with the hassles and costs of deploying and maintaining business applications. Companies of all sizes, especially small and mid-size organizations (SMBs) are adopting strategic sourcing policies to leverage comprehensive solutions from the fewest number of vendors.
Consort will continually expand its SaaS capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
The concept for SaaS and our supporting Managed Service offerings combines several different technology platforms. Consort will be offering a "Office Convergence Solution" that entails Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) teamed with a series of integrated applications that enable corporate/departmental team members to seamlessly collaborate on projects such as software development, product development, and research. Our aim is to provide industry specific vertical capabilities via hosted or on-premise delivery methods. These solutions may be shared or dedicated to one or more customers and will have the added benefit of a proactive 24X7 Network Operations Center (NOC) and Help Desk for the end-users.The SaaS Platform
The main reasons why organizations should be adopting the SaaS platform are cost effectiveness and ease/speed of deployment.
The ever increasing cost of software licenses and the search for less-capital intensive alternatives are the main drivers for the growth of SaaS. Many of the larger enterprise-level applications require hefty sums of money for ongoing software maintenance fees. Consort will work to satisfy the new market expectations for reduced deployment times and less-resource-intensive implementations.
In terms of TCO, SaaS is attractive because of its lower initial cost of deployment, and it doesn't normally require high-level capital expenditure approval. In many cases, SaaS can be funded by business units to address a specific pain point. The business unit could utilize funds from their operating expenditure budget, over which they have more discretionary control. In addition, because of the subscription model, the cost of an application can be spread over a number of years.
